About Nate Salzman

As your next Town Councilmember, I am committed to continually improving Brighton and making it an even better place to live.

One of my key priorities is infrastructure, such as walking trails and bike paths. I will ensure that Brighton remains a “15 minute town,” where residents can commute between essential locations, such as grocery stores and schools, without needing a car. Better access to essential locations, without requiring a car, is more equitable, encourages community building, and benefits the environment.

As a member of the Town Council, I plan to use my experience in Federal, State, and Local government to get the job done. I recently served as Campaign Manager and then Chief of Staff for New York State Assemblymember Demond Meeks. One of our significant accomplishments was helping to lead a bipartisan effort to increase funding for Double Up Food Bucks, a program in partnership with Foodlink which allows people receiving food assistance to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables at half price. Health is a crucial pillar for a community to thrive, and access to healthy foods needs to be equitable. I’m proud of our work towards that goal in the City of Rochester, which reflects my values and practical approach to governance.

I look forward to using my experience and dedication to support Brighton as a member of the Town Council.
